I was very disappointed when Adrian Alphona left the book, and Mike Norton's stuff was so so so so... I only stuck around because Joss Whedon was writing the book, and I enjoyed the stories very much. But not so much the Art, so it was a nice turn of things, When Takeshi Miyazawa was taking over the pencils.
Mr. Miyazawa was the artist for the first run of the Mary Jane comic. I love his work, and I'm ecstatic that his doing Runaways Yay

I'll be back in Manila next week.

I Am A: Neutral Good Dwarf Sorcerer (5th Level)

Ability Scores:

Strength-17

Dexterity-18

Constitution-15

Intelligence-14

Wisdom-17

Charisma-14

Alignment:
Neutral Good A neutral good character does the best that a good person can do. He is devoted to helping others. He works with kings and magistrates but does not feel beholden to them. Neutral good is the best alignment you can be because it means doing what is good without bias for or against order. However, neutral good can be a dangerous alignment because it advances mediocrity by limiting the actions of the truly capable.

Race:
Dwarves are known for their skill in warfare, their ability to withstand physical and magical punishment, their hard work, and their capacity for drinking ale. Dwarves are slow to jest and suspicious of strangers, but they are generous to those who earn their trust. They stand just 4 to 4.5 feet tall, but are broad and compactly built, almost as wide as they are tall. Dwarven men value their beards highly.

Class:
Sorcerers are arcane spellcasters who manipulate magic energy with imagination and talent rather than studious discipline. They have no books, no mentors, no theories just raw power that they direct at will. Sorcerers know fewer spells than wizards do and acquire them more slowly, but they can cast individual spells more often and have no need to prepare their incantations ahead of time. Also unlike wizards, sorcerers cannot specialize in a school of magic. Since sorcerers gain their powers without undergoing the years of rigorous study that wizards go through, they have more time to learn fighting skills and are proficient with simple weapons. Charisma is very important for sorcerers; the higher their value in this ability, the higher the spell level they can cast.

Alignment:
Chaotic Evil A chaotic evil character does whatever his greed, hatred, and lust for destruction drive him to do. He is hot-tempered, vicious, arbitrarily violent, and unpredictable. If he is simply out for whatever he can get, he is ruthless and brutal. If he is committed to the spread of evil and chaos, he is even worse. Thankfully, his plans are haphazard, and any groups he joins or forms are poorly organized. Typically, chaotic evil people can be made to work together only by force, and their leader lasts only as long as he can thwart attempts to topple or assassinate him. Chaotic evil is sometimes called demonic because demons are the epitome of chaotic evil. Chaotic evil is the best alignment you can be because combines self-interest and pure freedom. However, chaotic evil can be a dangerous alignment because it represents the destruction not only of beauty and life but also of the order on which beauty and life depend.

Social Work planting trees or Building homes?

Add to Memories Tell a Friend

First off it was fruitful week for me I got to do some good in this world.
Anyway it was either playing Golf w/ the male bosses or doing Charity work W/ my friend and Boss the lovely ms. Sakakibara, So I chose the latter Golf is for old men and I'm not old at least not yet. yeah we get to be in the mountains in the Cordillera w/ some indiginous tribes helping them to build their homes in their new relocation site away from the conflict between the Military and the NPA. I guess it wasnt bad instead it was awesome, to be away from everything no TV, no internet, just you and people and nature. I also got to plant trees to replace the ones we cut down to make way for planting fields. Everyone was awesome and I made a lot of friends w/ the people we were helping, and the volunteers too. w/c I'm concerned because most of them are Foreigners europeans to be exact an eclectic mix of french, germans, koreans(ok their asians) and us some Filipinos (2 incuding myself) and A japanese. it bothers me that most filipinos are unaware of what is truly happening in this nation. Even I was unaware of this conflict that is happening everyday in this part of the country. I dont know exactly what I can do to end it, its a conflict of ideologies and for me communism is dead. I just wish that they stop for the sake of the people who are caught in the crossfire. Anyway lots of time in my hands since our division is being dissolved and I might find myself in our head office befor the year ends, and for some reason I'm not happy about it, I should but I'm not.

Toji: Wala busy ako.
Subby: all work and no play...(gets interrupted)
Toji: No I'm not interested w/ youre sister.
Colleague: Oy Panero!!!
Subby: Wala daw siyang panahon.
Boss: Uh Tony
Subby and Coleague: Busy daw siya!!!!!
Boss: Yeah he will be, ey we got drafted. Its the nightshift for us we got a date w/ Nasdaq and Dow Jones.

Ok its formal I'm now a 4rth dan Blackbelt. The formal ceremony was done today, I was surprised that my past credits w/ Shotokan and Moo Do Kwon Karate would be considered I am at least a nidan
2nd dan w/ those 2. So yeah I slipped a belt w/c is a good thing w/c means I can now formally train for Kobudo or Okinawan Weapons training. I'm very much interested in learning the Kusari Gama(sickle and chain), Sai and nunte Katas. So there, anyway I can formally teach Karate Tora To Ryu kenpo style w/c falls under the Nahate category. So this means anything you learn here is formal.

Ok the police finally sent an investigator, to Itemize the stuff that got stolen in our house. Finally!!! they have to wait until a string of robberies plague our village before they do something. Needless to say that my laptop was not the only thing stolen from our house that's pretty much anything that was worth something got stolen. Except for the stuff that was too heavy for the robbers. lastnight though they caught at least one of the culprits.
I pretty much want to got to the station so I can have first dibs on kicking the guy until his innards collapse. But it seems that the our local Police beat me to it the guy was Brutalized (I suspect during interrogation). I wanted to pity the guy but I was not, I felt good after seeing him like that. As always though the stolen stuff remains stolen some Police we have.

Ok before we embark on learning KARATE, suffice it to say that there is a certain degree of flexibility required. So here are some stretching routines you can do in the meanwhile. Before you start stretching start out w/ some easy calisthenics, like jumping jacks and jogging in place to get the blood flowing. these are relatively easy stretching to increase youre flexibility and to relieve pressure and stress on the body. just 15 minutes before you sleep or after you wake up. Me I'm stretching and exercising now not just to be fit but yeah got to do something to kickoff the blues. Oh yeah the ones w/ red dots are the stuff that I do. More to come I'm sharing all my secrets to you. BTW watch it Des Ived been diagnosed w/ type one Diabetes so lets get fit ok d(>,6)b. GAMBARROOOOO....

Karate part1

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
gangreen, toji
Before I begin w/ the actual techniques of Karate and its combative applications. I feel it is necessary for the beginner to learn the proper mindset in learning this martial art. Thus we begin w/ the history of Karate, it all started in Okinawa sometime in the 16th century when the kingdom of Okinawa established formal trade relations w/ the Tang dynasty of China. Okinawans who consider themselves as simple folks were at awe of everything Chinese; this would also include their fighting arts. Kungfu as it is called is divided into 2 philosophical aspects being: Internal and External.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Gentle, soft, swift and sweeping movements characterize internal Kungfu. This form of
Kungfu were meant to cultivate what the Chinese called Chi (internal power) to revitalize the internal organs and the flow of blood in the body for obvious health reasons. Tai chi chuan is a perfect example of an internal Kungfu.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

On the other hand, swift powerful movements relying on brute physical strength are the characteristics of external Kungfu.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

The Okinawans as a testament to their Ingenuity, were able to combine these 2 schools of thought of Chinese martial arts, into one cohesive system of fighting they called Tode (Chinese hands) w/c laid the foundations of Karate.
As Okinawa is the largest of the Ryukyu Islands, it is also conveniently located between three countries: China, Korea and Japan. Thus making Okinawa the center of trade between these countries, making it of very strategic value. During the 1600's the Japanese invaded the small island, and established a military govt. w/ Samurai to enforce the rule of law. Fearing that the Okinawans might revolt the govt. banned and confiscated all manner of weaponry in Okinawa. Thus leaving the natives literally empty handed and at the mercy of the abusive Samurai.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

The Okinawans began to fight back by secretly practicing unarmed fighting techniques. Combining all of what they have learned through the ages and developed the art of Karate.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

As history progressed to the early 19th century, the need for Karate as a means for survival has diminished. Karate however survived as a form of physical fitness activity.
It became mandatory for schools in Okinawa to teach Karate for Physical education.
Eventually it was exported to the mainland through the efforts of Funakoshi Gichin sensei. After WWII American soldiers returning to America brought Karate w/ them
Spreading the popularity of this martial art to the world.

OK I'm feeling better now, specially that I dont have to work in that God forsaken place. And for once I'm feeling good about the transfer w/c might work out after all. First the boss is a familiar face a new expat from our head office, and was my instructor in Kyukushin karate. So yeah it might work out specially that I'm back in Alabang yay ^^ I wont be seeing that fat prick anymore. But I do feel bad for some of the few friends I'll be leaving there.
But enough of that, I saw 2 movies this past week and it gave me the impression that; there ought to be a rule, never make movies out of books unless you want to bore youre audience to death. And that is the case of the Golden Compass, I'm sure the book would be fine, the movie however made me feel like I'm watching Starwars the Phantom menace. Too many details to get in youre head and the story seems to be in a crawling pace, I keep looking at my watch. Cant say anything about the FX, their common thingies now. Make movies and leave it to those geeks in lucas ranch to make possible the impossible. So if youre coming in expecting "The Lord of the Rings" dont hold youre breathe coz what you'll get is the "Never Ending Story". Oh yeah the Aethistic theme that everyone seems to be worried about, dont worry about it, its not "The Davinci code", youre more likely to lose youre religion listening to R.E.M.
Beowulf on the other hand the story was great. I loved it it made me scampering to the nearest bookstore, to get the Graphic novel by Neil Gaiman. Except for the fact that the whole thing was in CG. It could have been like the 300, and you would never hear the end of it, me endlessly raving about the movie, except that I'm not. The Idea was ludicrous making digital characters out of existing actors. My God!! they look like action figures, I was freaked out. Anyway Angelina Jolie would make a Hoooot action figure real shmexy and stuff. Beowulf would've been better as a live action movie or they could've engineered diff character designs rather than copying the likeness of the actors but I dont have any complaints W/ Angelina (please will somebody make an naked action figure of her). Sigh all in all its a "it couldve been better movie if" and I hate that.
So I'm good despite that my nose is still hurting and my jaw kinda feels numb, otherwise I'm chipper (6,6).

BTW my new boss gave me an special edition Advent Children DVD and the Cloude action figure that comes w/ it (pasalubong) cant wait to watch it tonight and see whats so
special edition about it.
